Feedback Friday (#59)

Okay, here's one for ya . . .
Would it kill Baby to be put in the freakin' corner?
What if he was right, what if we CAN"T handle the truth?
And, while I'm at it . . .
Have you ever actually taken a whiff of napalm in the morning? It ain't good.
Now, before you dial the last digit of the Funny Farm and have a courtesy car swing by my place, there is a point here somewhere.
I want to know about your favorite movie-quote of all time.
That's it . . . that's the homework assignment this week.
It's not as simple as it sounds, though.
I also want to know why it's your favorite.
Should be fun . . .
Ben O.
BTW - if you come lookin' to me for sympathy when you can't come up with a cool reason for liking the quote you like . . .
Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn.

*waves* and here is my quote:

Brian Johnson: Dear Mr. Vernon: We accept the fact that we had to sacrifice a whole Saturday in detention for whatever it is we did wrong, but we think you're crazy for making us write an essay telling you who we think we are. You see us as you want to see us: in the simplest terms, in the most convenient definitions. But what we found out is that each one of us is a brain, and an athlete, and a basket case, a princess, and a criminal. Does that answer your question? Sincerely yours, The Breakfast Club.

Why? I came of age in the 80s and this movie took place on my birthday, March 24, 1985. It signified a lot of what my generation was about at that time. I was so proud of myself because I was always that kid that tried to break down the cliques. Now, 20 or so years later, there are still cliques and I worry that my children will still be seen this way....a brain, and an athlete, and a basket case, a princess, and a criminal....

Another Jack Nicholson for you.

"Here's Johnny!"

Great movie. Still gives me shivers when I see it!

No, when I was in 'Nam, all I remember were all these bullets flying all over the place, running really fast through the mud, and suddenly, blackness.

Don't remember what napalm smelled like. Sorry.

I'll have to think about this one...and try to get everybody else's quotes out of my head so I can think.

Two entries:

1) "Whoah, lady! I only speak two languages - English, and BAD English!"

2) "It's okay, I'm a leaf on the wind..."
"What does that mean?"

Carolyn Burnham: Uh, whose car is that out front?
Lester Burnham: Mine. 1970 Pontiac Firebird. The car I've always wanted and now I have it. I rule!

I still have to go with the classic from Raising Arizona . . .

"Son, you've got a panty on your head!"

(There are actually a ton of great quotes from the Coen brothers' movies. The Big Lebowski alone is a walking quote fest."

And one more thing -

I thought we had established, Sadie Lou, that Memento is the greatest screen play ever written.

Anyone with me on this?

"The...er...stuff that dreams are made of."

It's Bogie...need I say more...and the way he says it. Perfect ending to a movie.

Ben--
Okay. memento was a fine piece of work--agreed. But there are so many genres of movies out there that's hard to choose just one movie to represent "The Best Ever". I just can't choose.
