Feedback Saturday (#26)

Okay people, Saturday went and showed up again and that can only mean one thing . . .

Time to wash the socks?

Couldn't hurt.

Actually, I was sort of thinking about some feedback. What do ya say?

This week I want to know all about your favorite TV Show Theme Song.

Sounds easy, but let's give it a little thought and really come up with some interesting answers.

I must admit, that I've been toying with the idea of asking this one for awhile and I am really pretty stoked about seeing everyone's comments.

This should be fun . . .

Hey Ben! The opening theme to the Sopranos certainly gets me ready ... I've also come to like the opening theme to The Office. I guess it doesn't hurt that those are the only two TV shows I watch regularly -- besides 24 on Monday nights, which doesn't have a theme song.

Yes Sis C, but do you know who sings the song "Who Are You?"

Anyone want to help my beloved sister out here?

Strings - We love The Office (Sadie, you got us hooked.) The theme is so dorky that it's cool.

Hey Ben O.

It's been a while...again.

I remember really liking the beginning guitar riff on the "Three's Company" theme song...and the version of the "Gilligan's Island" theme song with ..."and the rest"..., which is funny on a few levels...but I'd have to say that one of my favourites was the theme song for "It's Garry Shandling's Show"...

This is the theme to Garry's show.
The theme to Garry's show.
Garry called me up and asked
if I would write his theme song
I'm almost half-way finished,
How do you like it so far?
How do you like the theme to Garry's show?

This is the theme to Garry's show,
the opening theme to Garry's show.
This is the music that you hear
as you watch the credits.

We're almost at the part
where I will start to whistle
then we'll watch "It's Garry Shandling's Show".

(whistle whistle whistle whistle)
(whistle whistle whistle whistle)
Now it's time for Garry Shandling's Show.

And for ones without lyrics, it's pretty much a toss-up...between "Knight Rider", "The A-Team" and "Magnum P.I."...Can't decide really...Oh yeah...and "Sanford and Son"...that's awesome too...

Sorry to go on and on, but I don't visit as often as I should...Perhaps I've overcompensated...

Take care out there, Ben O!

Your Pal,

Zambo.

Definitely the theme song to "Cheers" but I secretly also like the theme song to Golden Girls9yeah, I know, but I'm a girl and I think it's part of my genetic make up to like that show)

Ooo. I love The Who, so the CSI theme song is one. I also love the opening music from Barney Miller. And for more recent shows, I really like Farscape's theme becasuse it is so different and the song from Firefly because it's so... hokey. Ha. But it's for a sci fi show. I love that.

Zambo - Hey bro . . . you can come check us out as often (or not) as you like. Glad to hear from ya . . . I agree with the Gary Shandling's Show song. That one was really creative.

Fred - I couldn't agree more. Those are three of my favorites as well. Twin Peaks is on a whole other level (so totally beyond anything on TV before or since), but Night Court and Sanford and Son are really, really cool theme songs. Did you know that Quincy Jones wrote and performed the Sanford and Son theme? Pretty cool tidbit of info.

Etchen - Cheers is so classic. I love that show and the theme. All one big wonderful package. Along those lines, I would throw in Welcome Back Kotter. Every time I hear that song it takes me back to elementary school and all those metal lunchboxes. Strange how music can transport you to a place in your memory, huh?

NYPinta - The Who are great (I love how all the CSIs each use a different Who song. Barney Miller wasn't the world's best show, but that theme is burned into my brain. That reminds me of a couple of themesongs that are great to shows that I have never even seen an episode of . . .

St. Elsewhere, Party of Five, Fame and Baywatch.

Okay, I might have seen a few minutes of a Baywatch episode a couple of years ago.

Hey - how come nobody has mentioned the theme to The Dukes of Hazzard?

That was great stuff.

We love The Office (Sadie, you got us hooked.) The theme is so dorky that it's cool.

Once you're hooked, that's it!

I grew up with the theme song from The Simpsons, Cosby Show, Family Ties, Full House, Home Improvement and Saved by the Bell.

Those are not my favs.
My favorites are:

The Office (both the BBC one and the American one--the BBC one is even dorkier than the American one, if you can believe it)

That 70's Show

Wonder Years

My So Called Life

SpongeBobSquarePants

I agree with your sister that the CSI theme song is really cool and gets me pumped but I haven't watched that show in forever.

Worst Theme Song:

Curb Your Enthusiasm
Friends

The Brady Bunch & Gilligan's Island are classics - and two of the very few I can sing.

Have to agree with Zambo on The Garry Shandling Show. That was classic.

Other than those? The Greatest American Hero!
