A Little Shameless Self-Promotion
Okay, here's something all of you loyal Procrastination Station readers might find interesting . . .
Yours Truly emailed a letter in to Cargo Magazine a while back and apparently they were low on usable input, because they published it in the February edition.
So, the next time you happen to be strolling through the magazine section at the local grocery store or neighborhood Barnes & Noble Booksellers . . . pick it up and take a look (page 14).
You can't make this stuff up. Believe me, I've tried.
Ben O.
BTW - Cargo is actually a pretty nice magazine, if you are a dude and you're into men's fashions, cars, gadgets, sex, music, exercise, wine and food. And who among us dudes isn't?

Why don't you scan it and post it for those of us living outside of the US...?
LOL!
I'll probably read it while in the bookstore. That drives them crazy when you do that. ;)
Anne - I just might do that. I actually thought about not even mentioning it, because it is so "blowing your own horn-ish", but then I realized that the only dang reason to have a blog in the first place is to toot your own horn . . . on a daily basis, so I mentioned it.
Shannon - Careful, you might pull your groin. Sorry, I coudln't resist.
NyPinta - I say read all you want in the store and then leave. I actually considered going back on a regular basis and trying to read an entire book. I bet you could even leave your own bookmark in it and they wouldn't even notice.

That's pretty cool Ben. Of course I know what Cargo magazine is because I subscribe to Lucky magazine which is a sister publication and they also love blatant self promotion. Will definitely check it out.
Congrats. I'll have to check it out.
I was thinking "Cargo" magazine - does Ben work for UPS or something? But, no, you are a Cosmopolitan Dude, dude! Me too. I'll have to check it out.
Do I have to go to a B&N or will a Borders suffice?
Sweet!
Good job. Secretly: don't you relish seeing your words in print?
Come on--admit it.
Okay, here is the text of the email/letter that was published in the most recent Cargo Magazine. Sorry about not getting it up sooner for all you Non-Cargo-gettin' countries out there.
Please also keep in mind that was written in response to this article that was included in the previous month's print edition:

So without further fanfare, here is the email/letter -

I love your iTunes playlist ("Power Playlist", December/January, page 96) and was especially glad to see that some jazz and rare remixes made the cut. If it were up to me, I also would have included both "Goodnight Song" and "Woman in Chains" by Tears for Fears.

There it is . . . not much in the way of literary content, but pretty cool to read your words in print nonetheless . . . right Sadie?
Ben O.
Wine? Nah. Beer and martinis. :)
I read it Saturday when I went grocery shopping! It was so cool to see your little iTunes letter and then the Ben O. signature there at the end. I wanted to grab this person shopping for a card and say, "Hey! Read this--I know that guy."
Cool beans man.
Sadie - I know what you mean. It was only a little insignificant email letter and yet I felt pretty good about myself.
Sort of strange, actually.
Thanks for checking it out . . .
Ben O.
